Sahra Akyol: Designer by degree. Strength coach by choice.

I'm Sahra Akyol, Head of Coaching and Founder of PARC (opens in a new tab) (Performance And Recuperation Collective). I studied how products meet the body, then spent fifteen years coaching people. Every plan still starts with an assessment.

The road

Design school taught me to study the person first. I still coach that way.

I studied industrial product design. My degree project in 2011 was training and fitness equipment. After that I went into the field I had wanted all along.

I spent years as a personal trainer in Istanbul. I coach now from the Dominican Republic, in person and online.

When the usual methods were not enough for my clients, I went further into functional medicine, nutrition, biochemistry, biomechanics and periodization.

My clients are between 15 and 70 and live in more than a dozen countries, from the US and Germany to Turkey, Mexico and Australia. Some compete in tennis, MMA, jiu-jitsu or powerlifting. Others want to move without pain and get stronger.

The work

Strength is the result. The system is the cause.

How I decide

Three rules I coach by.

01

Assess first

No exercise gets written until I know how you move, what you eat and how you recover.

02

One phase at a time

The next block comes from the last check-in. A plan that ignores what your body just did is a guess.

03

The whole picture

Training, nutrition, supplementation and sleep. Fat loss that costs you muscle is a bad trade.

How I work

The assessment comes before the program.

Biomechanics, strength, body composition and, when the case needs it, neurotransmitter testing and blood work. I want to know what moves too much, what does not move enough, and where you are weak.

Nutrition, supplementation, sleep and the training plan move together. You train a phase, you film it, and the next phase comes from that.

This page is the outline. The program is written after your assessment.

Next step

Start with the assessment.

Pick a plan and we start there. If you want to talk first, book a thirty-minute call.
